Danijel Josip Boroša studied environmental engineering & resource management with a specialisation in sustainable process and environmental engineering at the Ruhr University Bochum. He completed his diploma thesis entitled "Influence of separation-effective internals on mass transport in liquid/liquid extractions" at Evonik Degussa GmbH in Marl, which was awarded by the Ruhr University Bochum as the best diploma thesis in his year in the field of environmental technology.
Directly after his studies, he completed his doctorate at the chair of solid process engineering at the Faculty of mechanical engineering at the Ruhr University Bochum. His scientific work included the construction of a single droplet measuring cell for high-pressure process engineering in order to observe particle genesis under elevated pressures of up to 200 bar at temperatures from -40°C to +180°C. For this purpose, he developed an acoustic levitator that can be integrated into a high-pressure viewing cell. Thus, in the course of his work, it was possible to observe the formation of gas hydrates on an acoustically levitated droplet for the first time worldwide. Furthermore, as a doctoral student, he was able to assist in the subjects of mechanical process engineering as well as heat and mass transfer. His doctoral thesis entitled "Development and construction of an acoustic levitator for the investigation of mass transport and particle formation mechanisms of samples under high pressures" was awarded with Magna cum Laude.
In addition, during his time as a research assistant at the Ruhr University Bochum, he applied for an EXIST Business Start-up Grant, which led to the founding of a start-up that develops and sells customised laboratory equipment used for the non-contact measurement of surface tension, density and viscosity of suspended droplets, among other things. The company was awarded with the INDUSTRIEPREIS 2015 in the research and development category for outstanding innovative industrial solutions.
Dr.-Ing. Boroša joined the Düsseldorf office as a patent attorney trainee on 1 October 2020. Here, his work focuses on German and European patent prosecution proceedings from the filing of patent applications to their grant. Furthermore, he conducts patent searches and in particular also supports founders with his knowledge.
